It’s cool working on a food truck, but it can be an intense, high-pressure environment. It can be daunting to look out our window and see hundreds of hungry faces looking back at you, so your abilities to keep calm under pressure and work efficiently, quickly and cleanly are key. Here are some random bullets to describe what we’re after, what you can expect, and what we need from YOU:

-          It’s a small, tight environment. There’s no room for a big ego.

-          Experience in the culinary field is preferred, but not essential. Multi-tasking/organizational skills and a keen eye for consistently high quality, on the other hand, are essential.

-          We collectively have a kooky sense of humour that is not always politically correct. Be prepared for some gentle ribbing and perhaps some coarse language.  A thick skin definitely helps.

-          We are currently a small company with big aspirations. We pay minimum wage to start, but we often give bonuses, and your dedication can lead to raises, and even a great career as we grow. And grow, we will.

-          Social media is a cornerstone of our business, so familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc is an asset.

-          Claustrophobia may not be the best affliction to possess.

-          We often work weird hours. Sometimes late, sometimes early, sometimes short and sometimes long.

-          A car is an asset, as you may be asked sometimes to meet on-site at services. If you’re not afraid to drive the truck, you got yourself some bonus points.

-          We know how to make our food, and that’s how you gotta make it. If you want to make it your own way, go start your own food truck.

-          You must not be afraid of butter or bacon-grease.

-          A friendly demeanor and trustworthiness is important to us.

-         If you have administrative talents on top of kitchen ability (ie email & schedule organization, you can earn yourself a special place at Gorilla Cheese!
